Understanding why you feel the way you do is not always enough to change it
Feel like you can't be your true self around other people? You're in the right place
I'm Veronica Pirez, a BABCP-accredited CBT therapist.
Therapy with me is a space to understand what's really going on, and start making changes that last. I offer sessions in both English and Spanish, so you can work in whichever language feels most natural to you.
You've worked hard to look like you have it together. And now you're:
Replaying conversations in your head, wondering if you said the wrong thing, sounded stupid, or came across as "too much" or "not enough."
Feeling like you have to have the right answer, the right reaction and the right level of confidence in every room.
Getting defensive or irritated when someone disagrees with you, and then feeling guilty or ashamed of how you reacted.
Smiling, joking and getting on with things while internally feeling anxious, tense and disconnected from who you really are.
Avoiding situations, invitations or conversations because the effort of keeping up the act feels exhausting.
Keeping everything to yourself, because talking about how you feel doesn't feel like an option.
On the outside, you look confident and in control. On the inside, you feel on edge, self-critical and tired of pretending.
You want to understand what's keeping your self-doubt, social anxiety and irritability going, and who are ready to change it. You don't just want to look confident. You want to feel it, and to be able to be yourself around other people.
